Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia (IRCE) has been established by full consensus and collaboration of various religious institutions in 2010. The history of working together and tolerance among various religious institutions go back to the time of the first Muslim refugees from Mecca to Ethiopia. These collaboration and tolerance has become the cornerstone to establish IRCE.
IRCE aims to promote and systematize interfaith learning collaboration to address common concerns. IRCE targets in bringing religious leaders and institutions of various faiths at national and regional levels to identify potential on building trust and relationship among the various religious communities. Through IRCE, faith based originations (FBOs) religious institutions and leadership are more organized and united to mobilize over the dominant followers of various religious institutions of Ethiopian people residing in all corners of the country.

The dialogue workshops have been completed with joint declaration statements made by participating religious institutions. Religious leaders have also reached consensus to communicate the position statements with their respective constituents.
